Stolen Plant Machinery Recovered

Following recent intelligence from Tracker, officers from Warwickshire Rural Crime Team alongside Northamptonshire Rural Crime Team attended a derelict pub in a local village.

Behind the premises, officers discovered what can only be described as an “Aladdin’s cave” of suspected stolen plant machinery, bowsers and trailers which had been deliberately concealed from view.

All items have now been recovered and enquiries are ongoing to reunite property with its rightful owners.

Plant and machinery theft continues to have a huge impact on rural businesses and contractors. We would encourage owners to take a few simple steps to help protect their equipment:

Remove keys and immobilise machinery when not in use

Store trailers and plant in secure, well-lit locations

Use hitch locks, wheel clamps and ground anchors where possible

Consider forensic marking and GPS tracking devices

Record serial numbers, chassis numbers and take clear photographs

Report suspicious activity immediately
